Wilson faced an independent disciplinary hearing in London on Wednesday after a complaint was made by match citing commissioner Jeff Mark, who believed that the Warriors player had taken hold of Dickson in the 25th minute of Sunday’s game, which Saints won 19-15.

Wilson could have faced a lengthy suspension, with the low end ban 12 weeks and the top end 24 to 208 weeks.

But he was cleared and is now free to play in Glasgow’s game against Racing 92 this weekend.

Wilson’s Glasgow team-mate Tim Swinson was also in trouble after being cited for allegedly punching Mike Haywood.

Swinson, who came on during the second half of the Champions Cup match at Franklin’s Gardens, was sin-binned in the 75th minute.

And that cost his team dear four minutes later as Harry Mallinder scored the match-winning try to keep Saints in contention for a quarter-final spot.

Swinson has been been banned for one week, meaning he will miss the Racing match.
