A statement from the Cobblers read: “Saturday’s game at Blackpool has been postponed because of a frozen pitch.

“No new date for the game has yet been arranged, but those supporters who had purchased tickets for the game are advised to keep them safe until a new date is known.

“At that point, details of the refund procedure for any supporters who are unable to make the new date will be announced.

“The club will retain any tickets purchased online and not collected in accordance with the above procedure.”

A statement on the Blackpool website read: “The match has been postponed following an early pitch inspection, with local official Barry Cropp finding the surface at Bloomfield Road frozen.

“This comes despite the pitch covers remaining down all week, however the protection is only effective down to -4 degrees.”
