Greyhound racing will return to Towcester Racecourse just over a month later than originally planned as the track was not going to be ready in time.

The sport was scheduled to come back on April 18, tying in with a public launch party five days earlier, but is now due to start on May 23.

The dog track and racecourse have been closed since August 2018, when the company running it went into administration.

Kevin Boothby, the Henlow Racing managing director, took over the venue last year and has been busy making refurbishments ahead of the sporting revival.

There are concerns the coronavirus pandemic may scupper Towcester Racecourse's plans but the management says it will continue to follow government advice.
