Darren Lehmann hails 'leader' Calvin Harrison as all-rounder signs new Northants deal
Calvin Harrison has signed a new deal at Northants.
The leg-spinning all-rounder only joined the club from Nottinghamshire on a two-year contract in the winter, having enjoyed a successful loan stint at Wantage Road in 2025.

But he has now put pen to paper on a new deal that will see him extend his stay at the cinch County Ground for two more years, ensuring he will be a Northants player until at least the end of the 2029 campaign.
And the 28-year-old is delighted to have committed his future to the County.

“I’m really happy to be extending my time here at Northamptonshire.” Harrison said.
“It’s a brilliant dressing room with a top-class spirit, and Boof (Darren Lehmann) and all the staff have been excellent so I’m looking forward to continuing my time at the club.”
An all-format player, Harrison has enjoyed a strong first season as a Northants player.
He has batted at number three in first-class cricket has so far scored 477 runs at average of slightly below 40.
He has hit two centuries to date, as well as a match-winning 92 not out against Gloucestershire.
In the Blast, Harrison has claimed 18 wickets to sit behind only James Sales in the wicket-taking charts, and he secured career best figures of five for nine against Essex last month.
Harrison was also selected by England Lions for what proved to be a truncated white-ball series against Pakistan Sheehans in Abu Dhabi, and is expected to be a key man for the Steelbacks in the upcoming Metro Bank One Day Cup.
Northants head coach Darren is delighted to have secured the services of a player he rates very highly.
“We’re extremely happy that Calvin has re-signed with us for a further two years," said the Australian.
"He's been a really important player for us since coming from Notts.
“He’s a leader in the group and a player that continues to strive for excellence on and off the field.
"It’s another important signing for us moving forward as we develop our squad for the future.”
Harrison is the latest player to commit his immediate future to Northants, along with head coach Lehmann who will also be at Wantage Road until the end of 2029.
