Tweet after tweet, Facebook post after Facebook post is about the C word. And it's not Comedy.

So, here on the Northampton Chronicle & Echo sports desk, we want to do things a little differently during these troubled times.

We feel we have a commitment to you, our readers, to bring you some light amid the darkness.

We don't want every story we write to be about the C word.

In fact, we want to sidestep it as much as Taqele Naiyaravoro sidesteps defenders.

Our news desk is doing a sterling job in keeping you updated on the latest around the community.

And while we will inevitably write stories about postponements and other sporting matters surrounding the C word, we want to be much broader than that.

So, here is what we are doing...

We are actively speaking to our clubs, particularly the Saints, Cobblers and Northants, about putting a different spin on things.

And the co-operation is certainly there on every side.

Over a number of years, we have worked closely with our clubs to build a solid relationship that can provide you with the content you desire and need.

And now, more than ever, those relationships can pay off.

If players are available to speak and give their unique take on life in the current climate, they will do so.

Our clubs, with their excellent media teams, are as keen as us to lift the mood.

And recommendations are flowing like Nicky Adams assists.

We are also asking for any suggestions from sports fans as to what they want to read.

That is what we are here for, after all, to provide a bridge between you and your heroes, resulting in content that you want to consume.

Feel free to tweet our rugby writer Tom Vickers (@wherestommyv), our football writer James Heneghan (@James_ChronNTFC), our sports editor (@TheRealCase) and our general sports account (@chronsport) with your ideas.

And stay tuned for what we have planned over the coming weeks and months.

It will hopefully bring a smile to your face and, in turn, ours.
