Northampton martial arts school nominated for national award

Proaction Martial Arts, a leading martial arts school in Northamptonshire, has been nominated for the prestigious Institute of Children’s Activity Provider’s Rising Star Award, sponsored by the British Franchise Association (BFA). The winner will be announced at the ICAP conference later this week.
The nomination recognises Proaction’s remarkable growth, innovation, and commitment to the sharing their local community values. Over the past year, the school has expanded its programs, welcomed more students, and developed initiatives that go beyond martial arts to support children’s confidence, discipline, and leadership skills.
“We are thrilled to be nominated for this award,” said Tom Nicholson, founder of Proaction Martial Arts. “It reflects the hard work of our team and the incredible support from our students and families. At Proaction, we focus on helping young people grow both on and off the mat, and this recognition shows that our efforts are making a real difference.”
Community engagement is central to Proaction’s ethos. The school runs leadership programs, hosts local events, and creates a supportive environment where students of all ages can develop life skills alongside martial arts training.
The ICAP Rising Star Award highlights businesses that demonstrate early-stage growth, fresh ideas, strong community involvement, and a clear vision for the future. For Proaction Martial Arts, the nomination confirms its position as a forward-thinking and impactful business expanding their Northamptonshire roots as they commence franchising.
Proaction Martial Arts will attend the conference to celebrate its achievements and continue building programs that support the next generation of local leaders.
