Gibson: Bath win shows Saints mean business

Jamie Gibson says Saints’ battling win at Bath shows his side ‘mean business’ in the Aviva Premiership this season.

A try from Luther Burrell and eight points from the boot of JJ Hanrahan earned Gibson and Co a superb success at The Rec on Saturday.

It pushed Saints up to fifth in the Premiership standings, four points behind fourth-placed Harlequins.

And Gibson, who was named man of the match, said: “It was a great performance throughout the squad.

“People came onto the pitch and made a difference and we showed that we mean business in the Premiership this year.”

Saints had lost three of their opening four league games, but have bounced back with back-to-back victories.

And Gibson said: “We’ve been building.

“It was a slow start, but there’s not been a massive difference from how we were playing early on to now.

“It’s just keeping it together for 80 minutes.

“Our defence has been outstanding the past few weeks and we’re just starting to put everything else on top of that.”
