From best player to best signing to best goal, here are our alternative end-of-season Cobblers awards...

5. Signing of the Season
Nesta Guinness-Walker. Picked up on a free in September, Guinness-Walker immediately impressed and only went from strength to strength. He started 23 games in total and was rock solid in nearly of all of them, both as part of the back three and at wing-back. Contributed in attack at times too, his biggest moment being the crucial winner against Bristol Rovers. Photo: Pete Norton

6. Breakthrough act
Max Dyche. Recalled from his loan at Woking in January, the 22-year-old quickly established himself in the first-team under Nolan, starting 12 of 13 games at one point and leading the defence alongside McGowan in Guthrie's absence. He spent some time out of the side towards the end of the season but he's been offered a new deal and, should he accept it, will expect more appearances next year. Photo: Pete Norton

7. Unsung hero
Akin Odimayo. Only Mitch Pinnock made more appearances this season. He played 44 times and featured in 23 of the 25 games under Nolan, operating across the back three and at wing-back. Letting him go must have been one of Nolan's most difficult decisions. Photo: Pete Norton

8. Best match
Saturday, April 5th, 2025, London Road - Peterborough United 0 Northampton Town 4 (Hoskins 2, Costelloe, Eaves). Need I say more? Photo: Pete Norton
