Jordan Turnbull has set his sights on a second successive promotion out when next season kicks off following his move to Salford City this week.

The 25-year-old was released by the Cobblers last month but has been snapped up by Graham Alexander's ambitious League Two outfit on a two-year deal.

“I’m very excited to be here, I’m happy it’s all sorted now," Turnbull told Salford's club website. "It’s been something that’s happened quite quickly but I’m excited for what’s to come.

“We had a brilliant season last season, I managed to play a lot of games and like you say we managed to get to the play-offs and go up through playing at Wembley. It was a brilliant experience, my first promotion on my CV, and I’m looking to get many more and that’s one of the big reasons for coming to this football club.

“The vibe around the football club at the moment is very exciting and a lot is talked about promotion. When speaking to the manager the main topic was promotion, it’s what everyone wants and everyone is working towards so it’s definitely one of the main reasons I want to come and play at this football club.

“I look to go out there and just give everything for the team. I like to think I bring a little bit of experience even though I’m quite young, I’ve played a lot of games at this level last season, I got promoted, so hopefully a bit of know-how here and there and I can help the team as best I can.”
