Cobblers have parted company with chief scout Simon Tracey

The 53-year-old, who made over 300 appearances in goal for Sheffield United during his playing days, joined Northampton in October 2018 shortly after the appointment of manager Keith Curle.

But after a successful summer in 2019, Town's recruitment has come under fire this season, particularly in the wake of their relegation back to League Two.

"Northampton Town have parted company with chief scout Simon Tracey," confirmed the club in a short statement.

"The club would like to thank Simon for his efforts and wish him well for the future."

Tracey's departure could signal the start of wider changes following recent comments made by chairman Kelvin Thomas regarding the club's structure.
