Cobblers chairman Kelvin Thomas has asked fans for 'patience' with regards to season tickets as the club iron out the final few details ahead of their return to League One in 2020/21.

A start date for next season - thought to be either August 29 or September 12 - is yet to be confirmed while a plan is also being worked on to get fans back into grounds, albeit at reduced capacity to start with.

Cobblers are expected to announce more details on season tickets in the coming days. The ticket office won’t be open to personal callers buying season tickets initially, but early sales will be online and over the phone.

Season ticket holders are so important to us and will always take priority,” said Thomas. “With our season ticket numbers, we will obviously give season ticket holders first access to games if we do have to reduce capacity for any matches.

"The interest and the club and season tickets is wonderful and we are expecting to be really busy. Because of that demand, we will need supporters to please be patient. There will be a big interest for League One season tickets, and if social media is anything to go by, the demand is crazy.

"A lot of the staff are still on furlough so we will need patience from supporters please and we will ask as many as possible to maybe buy online where they can rather than over the phone. Supporters will have five or six weeks to claim a discount so we just need to try and spread the demand and ask for supporters to bear with us.

"On the subject of merchandise, items are available online and we are maybe a few weeks away from being able to reopen the club store, but we are hoping to take pre-orders for the new kits in the next few weeks too.

“Please do be patient with us as we start to get back to normal amid high demand, we will communicate as much as we can but these are exciting times with lots of exciting things to look forward to.”
