'There will be comings and goings', confirms Hogg, as Cobblers target both permanent and loan additions
Chris Hogg says Cobblers are looking at both permanent deals and loan signings before the end of the transfer window, confirming there will be ‘comings and goings’ in the next three and a half weeks.
There has been a lull in transfer activity at Sixfields since Connor Evans and Matty Warhurst joined the club in the space of 24 hours two weeks ago, but that is unlikely to last much longer.

Hogg believes the market is starting to gather pace as the new season edges closer, and he’s expecting movement both ways before the window shuts on September 1st.
“I think you’ve seen that the market has picked quite a bit in the last few days and we need to be proactive in terms of the deals we want to do,” said Hogg. “There will be comings and goings in the next few weeks, that’s for sure, and when something happens, you’ll be the first to know.”
Earlier in the window Hogg spoke about trying to target ‘premium loans’ from Premier League and Championship clubs and how that market would likely pick up in the final weeks of the window due to the knock-on effect of the World Cup.
Asked if the club are focusing their efforts on either permanent deals or loan additions as the deadline draws nearer, Hogg said: “It’s about what’s best for the long-term of the club.
“I’ve spoken about that in the past and if there are permanent options that are out there, we will be in the mix and we will be involved if we can be. We will always have a look at what’s available and explore those avenues.
“But it would be foolish of us if we didn’t look at the loan market as well and try and get the best loans in that we possibly can. It might not feel like there’s loads of time left but a lot can happen in three and a half weeks and I’m sure you will see comings and goings in that time.”
