Seven players missed the draw with Sutton United in midweek either through injury, suspension or for personal reasons. Sam Hoskins and Aaron McGowan did return from injury with late cameos off the bench but neither are guaranteed to start against Newport.
Giving an update on Thursday, manager Jon Brady said: "Michael (Bolger) our physio is having to work pretty hard at the moment. We haven’t had much luck and there are a few players who will be touch and go for the weekend. Some might make it, some might not.”
Here’s a run through of the state of play with numerous players..

6. Aaron McGowan
Made his first league appearance of the season when playing the last few minutes on Tuesday. When asked if he could start against Newport, Brady said: "It was great to have Aaron back. He's had a really long, arduous six months out and he's worked very hard. His opportunity to start will come. Whether it's at the weekend or not, it's just when we feel the time is right." 7. Sam Hoskins
He too returned from injury as a second-half sub in midweek. Again asked if he's ready to start games, Brady said: "Everyone is in consideration. It was good to see Sam back on Tuesday and he is there or thereabouts." Photo: Shaun Botterill

8. Sam Sherring
