Southampton youngsters join Cobblers in EFL Trophy group

Southampton U21s will be Cobblers' final opponents in the group stage round of the EFL Trophy.

Cobblers were placed in South Group C with Stevenage and Milton Keynes Dons on Monday, and will now be joined by the young Saints following Tuesday's draw on TalkSPORT.

The fixtures will take place in the weeks commencing September 7, October 5 and November 9, subject to progress in the Carabao Cup.

Earlier, the Cobblers were handed a home tie against Cardiff City in the Carabao Cup first round.
