Wigan Athletic manager John Sheridan has a major injury headache going into tomorrow's League One fixture with the Cobblers, according to Wigan Today.

The Latics were already without four first-team regulars when striker Will Keane (groin) and utility man Gavin Massey (quad) limped off during defeat to MK Dons in midweek.

Kal Naismith and defender Darnell Johnson are hopeful of returning against Northampton but midfielder Lee Evans will be out for ‘a few weeks’ with a knee problem, while Viv Solomon-Otabor's ankle injury has been described as ‘serious’ by Sheridan.

“It’s disappointing,” said Sheridan. “We’ve picked up a lot of injuries lately which have disrupted us.

“We’ve had several important players missing and I’m trying not to make excuses. We’d love to bring players in but it is difficult at the moment.”
