Alan Sheehan and Mickel Miller could both return for the Cobblers at Milton Keynes Dons this weekend.

Defender Sheehan has not played since Town's goalless draw with Sunderland on January 2 while Miller remains sidelined with a hamstring injury suffered on his debut.

But both are now very close to returning and caretaker boss Jon Brady can't wait to have them involved again.

"Both of them look like they might have a chance to be involved on Saturday," said Brady.

"Mickel will add more balance to the squad because at the moment we don't have a natural left-footed player on the left side.

"There's a bit of a freshness about him and he doesn't half glide across the ground so he'll be a huge bonus to our squad.

"It's the same for Sheehan when he comes in because he's been huge for us."

Sheehan was involved in the coaching set-up under previous boss Keith Curle but has taken more of a back seat since Brady came in.

"We talked to him and he is so valuable to us as a player so we want him 100 per cent focussed on getting back fit and being a difference for this club on the pitch," Brady added.

"Marc (Richards) and Ian (Sampson) have been around us and they are exceptional coaches in their own right."
