Saunders will bring pace and energy to Cobblers - Hogg

New signing Harvey Saunders will bring bags of pace and energy to Northampton’s front-line next season, according to manager Chris Hogg.

The 28-year-old becomes both Hogg’s first signing in charge and the club’s first arrival of the summer. An experienced forward, Saunders played for Fleetwood, Bristol Rovers and Tranmere before contributing 17 goals and assists for Eastleigh in the National League last season.

"Harvey is a player who will add options and depth to our front line," said Hogg."He brings positional flexibility with a lot of energy and pace to run in behind and stretch defences, which is a good asset for any team to have.

"He is the sort of player who will be popular with supporters, he gives his all, leaves nothing out there, working tirelessly for the team. We are delighted to welcome him to the club."

When he signed for Eastleigh last September, the club’s then-manager Kelvin Davis said: “Harvey adds plenty of energy and ball-carrying ability at the top of the pitch. He’s a good age with good experience from the EFL, so we’re pleased we’ve been able to attract him to Eastleigh.”
