Salford raced out of the traps and caught Cobblers cold with Ethan Galbraith breaking the deadlock on nine minutes. Sam Hoskins levelled but Town were all over the place in the first-half and fell behind again as Conor McAleny netted. The best of the back four, largely due to the fact nearly every Salford attack went down the other side. Really good work for Town's goal and was decent on the ball in the second-half... 6 Photo: Pete Norton
6. Marc Leonard
Night and day between first-half and second. Positionally caught out and overrun before the break. Much, much better thereafter, clearing one off the line to keep his side in the game and twice setting up good chances at the other end. Probably not the best decision to shoot from 40 yards in the 95th-minute, then again on that bog of a pitch maybe it was... 6.5 Photo: Pete Norton
7. Ben Fox
Same story here as it took him 45 minutes to get to grips with both the pitch and the opposition. Cobblers lost the midfield battle before half-time and subsequently had no control of the game. Led the charge in the second period though and should have had a delightful assist when setting up Eppiah's disallowed goal. Might have won a late penalty too... 6 Photo: Pete Norton
8. Mitch Pinnock
Anonymous for much of the first-half and then lost his radar in the second, either overhitting his crosses or unable to beat the first man... 5.5 Photo: Pete Norton
