As we enter the final 10 games of the season, the Cobblers are sixth in the table with 58 points, three inside the play-off positions and six behind automatic promotion. Here's a look at what they might need to consolidate their current position or, potentially, sneak into the top three (with the average points tallies revealed at the end)...
9. 2017/18 - 75 and 84
Seventh spot went to Lincoln City with 75 points while Wycombe claimed the last automatic promotion place with 84 and Accrington Stanley (93) impressively won the title.
10. 2018/19 - 71 and 79
Last season, Newport County's superb late dash secured a play-off place with 71 points while MK Dons beat Mansfield on the final day to finish on 79 points for third place. Lincoln topped the table with 85.
11. What does this mean for the Cobblers?
On average, 71.4 points have been needed to reach the play-offs and 82.3 for third place. That would mean Cobblers require four wins and two draws from their final 10 games for seventh or 24 points out of a possible 30 for third.
