The high-flying hosts were in ruthless form as they racked up a 4-0 victory. Despite the scoreline, there were some good performances from the Cobblers. Here are our player ratings...

. Jonathan Mitchell
He could have pushed Williams' shot away from the danger area instead of back out to Marquis, however the same can't be said for the second goal. It was a spectacular initial save and he deserved more help from his defence... 5.5 Photo: Pete Norton

. Cian Bolger
He was in the right place to head clear a couple balls into the box. Unlucky with the deflection for Marquis' first but caught under the cross for the second and allowed Curtis too much time to pick his spot for the third... 5 Photo: Mike Hewitt

. Alan Sheehan
Losing 4-0 on debut wasn't the plan but there were some classy moments, especially in the first-half. Comfortable on the ball and went close with a superb free-kick. Can't escape the fact the defence conceded four though... 5.5 Photo: Pete Norton

. Fraser Horsfall
Sheehan's arrival could have meant him moving to the right of the back three but he stayed on the left and was helpless as Town's defence continued to ship goals... 5

. Michael Harriman
Joined attacks in the first-half and was sound defensively. Unable to stop the cross as Pompey doubled their lead in the second, though he was outnumbered on Town's left... 6 Photo: Pete Norton
