Midfielder Bryn Morris says he has never settled at a club as quickly as he has done with the Cobblers since joining on loan from Portsmouth.

The 24-year-old only signed for Northampton last Monday but already looks to be enjoying life at the club, both on and off the pitch.

He played the full 90 against Lincoln City and Fleetwood Town this week and won plaudits for his performances in both games. He also seems to have struck an immediate understanding with midfield partner Shaun McWilliams.

"It's a bit strange really because I've never gone to a club before and settled as quickly as I have done here," Morris told the Cobblers Show on BBC Radio Northampton. "I'm not sure why that is.

"I think it's probably the group of players here because there's no egos and everyone was really welcoming when I first came in.

"On the pitch, I think there's been a good balance between me and Shaun in midfield. I was speaking to Shees (Alan Sheehan) the other day and I called Shaun the destroyer because that's what he is.

"You know he's going to be there and then that gives me the license to go and get on the ball and break forward and I feel like there's a good balance to the midfield."

Morris is out of contract with Portsmouth in the summer but would not be drawn on his future with the focus on the here and now and helping Cobblers stay in League One.

"Everyone is pulling in the same direction here," he added. "Coming into the club creates good competition and that's healthy because it keeps everyone on their toes, but I feel like I've settled in so easily.

"It feels like I've been at the club quite a long time actually and it's also easier to settle in when there's more games because it brings you closer together as a team.

"But we've got to be harsh on ourselves as well and take our chance because it's a results business and we want the three points. We can't keep saying we're playing well without winning."
