Pierre sends Cobblers into the relegation zone as resurgent Shrewsbury shock Doncaster

Cobblers have dropped into the Sky Bet League One relegation zone following Shrewsbury Town's 1-0 win at Doncaster Rovers on Tuesday.

Former Town defender Aaron Pierre scored the only goal of the game when heading home Shaun Whalley's second-half free-kick.

Shrewsbury, who sacked Sam Ricketts and replaced him with Steve Cotterill last month, have now won three games in a row to leap up to 16th in the table.

Cobblers, meanwhile, drop to 21st and have still played more games than the majority of teams around them.
