A Marc Richards double plus goals from Matty Taylor, Paul Anderson, John-Joe O'Toole and JJ Hooper saw Northampton ease into round two.

"It was a professional performance," said Page afterwards. "We were expected to win comfortably but we all know that FA Cup can throw up surprises and upsets.

"We wanted to make sure it wasn't us today and we were very professional in terms of how we went about our work, even at 3-0 and 4-0.

"From front to back, we defended well and we attacked as a unit so both aspects of it were really pleasing today.

"We wanted to come out of the traps fast, set a high tempo and try to get an early goal.

"We got two which was a bonus and it was important to keep turning the screw and thankfully we did that."
