Cobblers boss Wilder: We have to get transfer window signings right
Town are actively looking to bring new players into Sixfields to strengthen a squad that has enjoyed a fantastic start to the season and sits in second place in Sky Bet League Two at the halfway point.
Wilder and chairman Kelvin Thomas have both gone on record to say they believe it is always best to improve from a position of strength, and that is what the Cobblers boss intends to do once the window opens on Saturday.

Wilder has identified the targets he will be going after, and although the Cobblers boss says no new players will be brought to the club ahead of Saturday’s visit of Barnet to Sixfields, fans can expect to see new faces in the coming weeks.
Just how many new faces though, remains to be seen.
“I don’t think anyone will be brought in before the weekend, but we are actively looking and making calls,” said Wilder. “There is a lot of work goes on before (the opening of the transfer window), and has done.
“We are looking to add, we feel we need to add, and we will do.

“But the signings, if we do make signings, have to be the right signings, and we have to be careful with it.
“If we don’t bring anybody in we run the risk of not freshening things up, if we do bring people in they have be of the right character and the right sort to make us better, and we don’t want to bring too many in and unbalance the group.
“It is a tricky window, but hopefully we will get it right and make us stronger going into the second half of the season.”
