Adams keen for Luton to ‘have a go’ at the Cobblers

In-form Town travel to take on a Hatters side desperate to get their stop-start season up and running.

John Still’s side are currently a lowly 14th in Sky Bet League Two, and are a whopping 14 points adrift of third-placed Cobblers.

They have only won one league game at home since September, and really need to start winning on a consistent basis if they are to launch any sort of promotion challenge.

Adams feels they will see the clash against the Cobblers as the ideal chance to bag three crucial points in what is something of a derby date, but he insists if they do go on the attack, it will be a ‘danger’ for them.

“You look at Luton and it is a big club,” said Adams.

“I think it is going to be more or less a sell-out on Saturday, and it’s another local derby and big game for us. It’s one we are looking forward to.

“You look at some of the players they have got, and they are a good side.

“They’ve not been doing too well of late and they might be able to turn that round, but hopefully not against us.

“We will go there with our gameplan, we know what we can do, and we think we can get the result.

“We will go through their team with the gaffer and Knilly, and we will look at their strengths and weaknesses, but I think this is a good game for us.

“I think they’ll have a go at us, they will fancy it, and that is a big danger for them because I think we are better when teams come out and have a go.

“In the last couple of games teams have sat in and tried to frustrate us, and even that didn’t work.

“Saturday has all the makings of a really good game, and hopefully we can go there and get the three points.”

Adams is in confident mood ahead of the trip down the M1, as is the entire squad which is currently on a six-match winning streak.

But the former Bury man insists there is no over-confidence.

“We are all very confident at the moment and we know that at any given time, somebody can do something to spark us off,” he said.

“I think you have seen over the past couple of months that we are playing really well, some really good stuff, and we are dangerous all of the time.

“I think we are going to get better and better, but we know we have to keep working hard in training and stay together as team.

“We aree keeping our feet on the ground and we’re not going to go around shouting from the rooftops, which is why the dressing room is so good.”
