After a scruffy first half, Town found their mojo in the second as Tom Eaves’ sensational header set them on their way before Lorent Tolaj’s red card was followed by quickfire goals from substitutes Elliott List and Jordan Willis. Here are our player ratings from Home Park...

1. Ross Fitzsimons
Plymouth had 11 shots in the first half but only one on target and that was straight at him. He had even less to do after the break, at least in terms of saves, but he did pick out a brilliant pass when finding Wheatley to set Cobblers away for their second goal. 2. Conor McCarthy
Stretched at times in the first half as Town's defence was pulled about and Plymouth caused problems down the sides but no major damage done. Tolaj and Mumba were off target with the home side's two best chances. More composed and in control once Cobblers had the chance to reset at half-time... 7.5 Photo: Pete Norton

3. Jordan Thorniley
Endured a difficult 35 minutes before Nolan wisely took him off. Booked needlessly inside five minutes and was then caught napping as Mumba nipped in for Plymouth's best chance of the game. His second foul was a debatable one but once the ref gave it, a red card could quite easily have followed... 5 Photo: Pete Norton

4. Michael Forbes
Constantly tussling with Mumba and Tolaj but relished the battle and ultimately came out on top. Seemed to get under Tolaj's skin before the striker snapped and saw red - both figuratively and literally - in the second half. Good all game but especially so once Cobblers hit the front... 7.5 Photo: Pete Norton
