Town were the better side in the first half but created little throughout the contest and tired late on. Here are our player ratings….
5. Ali Koiki
Defended well in the first half but could have done more with the ball and then seemed to tire in the closing stages as Rovers repeatedly threatened down their right... 6 Photo: Pete Norton
6. Ben Fox
Given a role to do and he did it pretty well for most of the game. Sat in front of the defence, picked off Rovers attacks and landed on second balls. His use of the ball was simple but served a purpose. Did lose his man for the winner though... 7 Photo: Pete Norton
7. Will Hondermarck
Worked effectively alongside Fox to give Cobblers a decent foothold in the middle of the park but they struggled to keep possession for sustained periods, especially in the second half... 6.5 Photo: Pete Norton
8. Cameron McGeehan
He was not heavily involved but there were moments of quality, particularly when he linked up with Morton. So nearly teed up the striker on two occasions, first with a lovely through pass and then with a cushioned header. There's a lot more to come from him... 7 Photo: Pete Norton
