Town weren’t given a sniff by anyone as Huddersfield, relegated from the Championship only a few months ago, chased a fourth win in five, but the visitors were fully deserving winners. 5. Luke Mbete
So impressive again. He's barely put a foot wrong since joining the club. There was no way past him defensively, either aerially or on the floor, and had the energy to drive forward when opportunities arose, as he did for McGeehan's second half chance. Did an important late stint at centre-back with Cobblers effectively down to nine men... 9 Photo: Pete Norton
6. Jack Sowerby
Such a Jack Sowerby type performance. Understated and unheralded but his contributions were vital. Screened the back four brilliantly, forcing Huddersfield to go backwards or sidewards, and landed on plenty of second balls. His partnership with Chouchane looked like it had potential on paper and this was a very good start... 8.5 Photo: Pete Norton
7. Samy Chouchane
Played well beyond his age and experience. His use of the ball was positive and crisp and ensured Cobblers always had a way out. Did all the defensive stuff too and and was disciplined and committed in combining with Sowerby to thwart Huddersfield's progress. Faints and drops of the shoulder in tight spaces showed great composure. Ae you Marc Leonard in disguise? Fantastic performance... 9 Photo: Pete Norton
8. Cameron McGeehan
Took his goal so well. Shaped for the far corner but then whipped his shot in at the near post, deceiving Nicholls. So typical of the way he finds himself in those positions, as he did again in the second half when stabbing narrowly wide. His energy levels are off the scales. Was still charging about in the 95th minute. Physically and technically his performance had it all... 9.5 Photo: Pete Norton
