Neo Dobson and Martyn Waghorn netted for Town but the game was dominated by the more experienced Brewers. Here are our player ratings from Sixfields…
9. Liam McCarron
Would probably have been given a penalty had he gone down following a driving run into the box. Didn't reappear for the second half... 6 Photo: Pete Norton
10. Neo Dobson
On target for the third time in two Trophy games and he again took it nicely, controlling well before beating Isted. Poked wide later in the first half. Otherwise it was lots of running and not much goalmouth action... 7 Photo: Pete Norton
11. Martyn Waghorn
Excellent work to create Dobson's opener and then bravely headed in his first Town goal. Was scheduled to come off in the second half but injuries to others meant he had to play the full game... 7 Photo: Pete Norton
12. Ollie Evans
A 17-year-old forward player who joined the club's under-13s and looked lively in attack... 6 Photo: Pete Norton
