Lamine Fanne scored the game’s only goal as both sides missed chances. Here are our player ratings from Sixfields...

9. Tyrese Fornah
Had a quiet first half but he was the trigger behind Town's second half improvement. All of their best moments went through him. Broke forward for the Swyer chance before his near post flick saw Guinness-Walker go close and it was his delightful cross that should have been converted by Wheatley. He also drew the foul for the free-kick right on the edge of the box. Cobblers are a better team when they get him on the ball as much as possible... 7.5 CHRON STAR MAN Photo: Pete Norton

10. Kamarai Swyer
Just not at the races in the first half. Better in the second and nearly squeezed in Edwards' cross at the back post before being withdrawn... 5.5 Photo: Pete Norton

11. Sam Hoskins
Started in a forward role as Nolan tweaked things but it didn't last after Wormleighton's early withdrawal. Not many strikers would move to right-back so seamlessly. Was doing a good job until he shifted to wing-back and Jones found space behind him to cross for the decisive goal... 6 Photo: Pete Norton

12. Kyle Edwards
Replaced Wormleighton early on and immediately brought some much-needed excitement with a burst into the box. In and out of the game but he came to life in moments, crossing for Swyer in the second half, and there's hopefully much more to come... 6.5 Photo: Pete Norton
