Fraser Horsfall's header, Sam Hoskins' stunner and a stoppage-time third by Benny Ashley-Seal secured an ultimately comfortable home win. Here are our player ratings...
9. Mitch Pinnock
Chalked up his 11th assist of the campaign with a pinpoint corner and would have claimed another had Guthrie's header not been cleared off the line. Always a danger in the free role, getting shots off and looking to slip others in on goal.... 7.5
10. Sam Hoskins
Heavily influential in a strong team performance. Had a hand in all three goals, winning the corner for the first, brilliantly curling home the second and then setting up Ashley-Seal's stoppage-time third. Also missed two good chances and linked well with team-mates throughout. Up there with one of his best games of the season... 8.5 CHRON STAR MAN
11. Louis Appere
Did as much as he could with the service into him. Too many balls were out wide or overhit and not enough were into his feet, making for a frustrating afternoon. Worked hard though and did not make life easy for Colchester's defenders... 7
12. Bez Lubala
Replaced the injured Sowerby and was close to opening his account for the club, just not quite catching his shot cleanly after good work to get into the box... 6.5
