Town eventually ground down Scunny's stubborn resistance and claimed all three points courtesy of second-half goals from Sam Hoskins and Danny Rose. Here are our player ratings from a dominant home performance...
9. Sam Hoskins
Took aim with a rasping effort from 30 yards with just 12 seconds on the clock and that set the tone for him and the team. Very busy and vibrant throughout, popping up in good positions all over. Was superbly denied by Watson late in the first-half but a great cross set up Rose and nicked a goal for himself in stoppage-time... 8.5
10. Kion Etete
Played second fiddle to his strike partner for a change, but still did his bit in giving Scunthorpe the runaround. Had one shot well blocked and was involved in some good approach play to set up chances for others... 7.5
11. Danny Rose
Hard to think of a better game in his time at the club. Ran Scunny's defence ragged all afternoon, none more so than when forcing the red card. Won countless headers and linked up brilliantly with his team-mates. Real poacher's finish broke the deadlock... 9 CHRON STAR MAN
12. Dylan Connolly
Added extra impetus and drive off the bench and finally made the most of one of his many openings, though it was Hoskins who nabbed the goal after his shot was smothered off the line... 7
