Town scored their first home goals and registered a first home win of the year and in doing so breathed new life into their battle for League One survival. Here are our player ratings from an impressive team performance...

Showed superb character and resilience to bounce back from Saturday. Excellent and vital early stop denied Jephcott to keep it scoreless and preserved his well-deserved clean sheet with a wonderful save from the same man late on... 8
One of his busier games defensively as Plymouth regularly probed and pressed for a way through down their left, but they seldom got in behind Town's right-back bar a couple of occasions in the latter stages... 7.5

His best game in claret. Seems far more confident and settled when playing in a back four. Made at least three crucial defensive interventions as Plymouth delivered dangerous crosses into his penalty box... 8.5
Dominant and error-free the heart of defence in another demonstration of why he has become Town's senior centre-back under Brady. Has now helped keep six clean sheets in his 13 starts compared to two in 19 before he joined... 8
The final member of Town's back five to also have a very good night. Shutdown the supply line from Arygle's right flank and provided energy up and down the pitch, supporting attacks when he able to... 7.5
He thrives in games like this because he's so good out of possession and will constantly hunt the ball down. His work alongside Sowerby meant Plymouth were never able to penetrate through Town's midfield... 8
Also had one of his better games for the Cobblers. Broke up play to great effect and worked tirelessly off the ball. Kept possession well too, involving in the opening goal and relieving the pressure with some driving runs out of defence... 8
His quality on the ball was hit and miss but his cross led to a good chance for Miller and there can never be any doubting his work ethic or discipline. Always on hand to help out in defence... 7.5
He's good fun to watch when in full flight with his darting runs and silky touches. Good hit on the volley saved by Cooper. Town's best player before Watson stole the show. Still not quite at peak fitness so faded in the second-half... 7.5
Cobblers needed someone to step up and he's answered the call. Fabulous first-time finish broke the deadlock and then made it four in four with a scruffier but equally important second. Thriving in an advanced role... 9 CHRON STAR MAN
Still waiting for his first goal but he should take great confidence from his all-round display here. Led the line well, put in a great shift and teed up Watson nicely for the opening goal... 7.5
Did some great work as a second-half sub to help Cobblers fend off Plymouth's mounting pressure... 6.5
His main contribution as a late substitute was to be on the receiving end of a naughty challenge. Seemed to come away unscathed as Woods saw red... 6
