Unlikely to have an easier afternoon all season long as Newport failed to register a single shot on target. Town's excellent defence reduced his workload although he caught well from crosses... 7
No alarms at the back and hinted of his attacking capabilities with one terrific cross right onto Hoskins' head. All in all looks a solid addition to the squad and a sound option at right-back... 7.5

Shut down Newport's threat on his side of the pitch with another competent and assured defensive performance at left-back. Could still get forward more but his primary job is to defend and he did that excellently... 7.5
Faultless on his return to the starting XI. Strong in the air and read the game expertly to ward off the danger as he played a starring role in Town's first home clean sheet of the campaign... 8
Led from the front with a towering, dominant display. Had Amond in his pocket and barely gave Newport a sniff of goal. Plenty of MOTM contenders but his stellar work for Town's second gives him the edge... 8.5 CHRON STAR MAN
His tenacious, battling work as holding midfielder ensured little got through to the defence and helped Town triumph in battle for midfield supremacy. In the referee's bad books more than once but never strayed too far... 8
While Turnbull often won back possession, he made sure Town kept hold of it. Accurate, incisive and tidy with his passing, and put it on a plate for Hoskins to secure the points... 7.5
Can't have played as a number 10 too many times before but did so here and looked the part. His hard work and constant running troubled Newport and created space for others to do their thing. His early withdrawal is a concern... 8
Taken a while to find his mojo this season but improving with almost every game. Delivered some of his classic crosses on Saturday and found Kaja with a lovely through pass. Decision-making a little off at times... 7.5
Headed too close to King in the first-half but was to be rewarded for another energetic performance with a simple tap-in that wrapped up the points. His game seems to have gone up a level this season... 8
More of the same from the striker who never shirks the ugly side of the game and is always sniffing out a goal. Got his fourth of the season here, albeit somewhat aided by a terrible attempted clearance... 7.5
His debut cameo suggests he'll give teams grief with his direct running, though lacked conviction when the chance of a debut goal presented itself... 6.5
Not much to report from his short time on the pitch... 6
On as a late sub... 6
