Northampton handed home tie against League Two leaders in Vertu Trophy
Cobblers have been drawn at home to League Two Walsall in the last 16 of the Vertu Trophy.
The two have already met each other in this year’s competition, with Cobblers winning 1-0 at Walsall thanks to Kamarai Swyer’s late winner in the group stage. The round of 16 ties will take place in the week commencing January 12th.

Cobblers have won all four games in the EFL Trophy this season and progressed to the last 16 by beating Wycombe earlier this week, while the Saddlers won 2-1 at League One high-flyers Stevenage. Walsall are going well in League Two this season and currently top the table, a point above Swindon.
The round of 16 draw, which remained regionalised, took place on Sky Sports on Saturday morning hosted by David Prutton, former Leicester captain Wesley Morgan and ex-Derby and Hull defender Curtis Davies.
