No more football for Cobblers ladies after season is voided

The season is over for Northampton Town ladies after the FA declared all levels from three to seven void following the coronavirus outbreak.

The Cobblers finished in sixth place in the league table, their first season at the higher level of the East Midlands Women’s Football League Premier Division. Their final record was six wins, a draw and three defeats with a positive goal difference of 13.​

The final game of the season for the Cobblers was a 3-2 win over Mansfield Town on March 8.

After a mixed start to the season, they adjusted well to life in the higher division and ended the season strongly after finishing unbeaten in six games.​

"Thank you to all of the players, staff, volunteers and supporters for their work through the season," said a statement. "Circumstances may have led to an unexpected end, but we look forward to seeing back for next season."
