The 21-year-old hails from the Netherlands and began his career in the Manchester City Academy, before switching to Manchester United when he was 15.

Following his release from United in 2013, Gorre impressed enough on trial at Swansea to earn himself a deal, and in May, 2015, he made his Premier League debut in a defeat to Crystal Palace.

The wide man is highly rated in south Wales and signed a three-year deal at the Liberty Stadium in the summer of 2015, but has yet to add any further first team appearances to his name.

Instead, he has spent time on loan in his homeland, playing for ADO Den Haag.

“We have had to be patient because I want to bring the right type of player in,” said Town manager Page.

“Kenji is somebody that I lookeed at two years ago when I was manager of Port Vale.

“I came away from an under-21s game at Swansea wanting to sign him, but I think at the time they were concerned.

“It would have been a youth loan and they were concerned about his age, with him being so young, but two years on we have followed his development.

“He has gone out, he has had a loan in Holland, and he has that real potential and I coulsn’t miss the opportunity to get him.

“Everybody raves about him down at Swansea, and for me he is a great addition to the squad.”

Gorre’s father, Dean Gorre, was also a professional footballer, and played in England for Huddersfield Town, Barnsley and Blackpool.

Gorre is set to make his first Cobblers appearance in Saturday’s final pre-season friendly of the summer at Eastleigh.
