New date and time for Town's final-day trip to Sunderland

Cobblers' final day trip to Sunderland has been given a new time and date.

Town will now make the long trip to the Stadium of Light on Sunday, May 9, instead of the previous afternoon, with kick-off shifted to midday.

All League One games will kick-off at the same time.

The club confirmed in a statement: "Northampton Town's final game of the season at Sunderland will be played on Sunday May 9 with a noon kick-off.

"All of the final round of matches will take place at the same time in the division with a number of games selected for live broadcast by Sky Sports.

"In addition, the EFL have confirmed that the 2021/22 Sky Bet EFL fixtures will be released on Thursday 24 June at 9am."

Sunderland are challenging for automatic promotion out of League One, currently placed third in the table.
