Hall-Johnson, 25, is a former Norwich City academy graduate and was part of their FA Youth Cup winning team in 2013. He made his professional debut in a League Cup tie for the Canaries in 2014.

Prior to joining Northampton, he spent two years with Grimsby Town – where he also went on loan to Chester – before signing for the Cobblers last summer.

Hall-Johnson said: “I can’t wait to get started. It’s been a long break for a lot of clubs, and I can’t wait to get on the pitch and play some football.

“I’m excited to play and do well this year. Hopefully, I’ll bring positivity. The team obviously wants to be in the top half of the table, and wants to be promoted and that’s what I want to achieve. I’m raring to go.”

Hall-Johnson is Wrexham's fourth new signing for the 2020-21 season so far, following Jamie Reckord, Elliott Durrell and Jordan Ponticelli in signing permanent deals.
