Striker Callum Morton hopes he can score his first home goal when the Cobblers host Mansfield Town later today.

The Baggies loanee has five goals since signing in January, all of which have come on the road with a couple at both Grimsby and Walsall and another at Macclesfield.

He's won a couple of penalties at the PTS but has yet to score in front of his own supporters.

"We were discussing my away record in the changing room after the game (last Saturday) and I was saying that I haven't scored at home yet.

"Maybe teams tend to drop deeper when we play at home so it doesn't give me as much in behind and obviously that's how I like to play.

"But I'm sure it'll come at some point this season, hopefully this weekend!"

If he keeps up his current scoring rate, Morton may well overtake Sam Hoskins at the top of the goal charts before the end of the season. The 20-year-old currently has five goals, six behind Hoskins.

"I'm not sure if I can overtake Sam but I just want to keep winning games," he added. "That's all I'm focused on and scoring is just a bonus.

"Strikers get judged on scoring goals and that's what I'm doing at the moment. As long as I keep doing that, it'll take me to where I want to go."
