Buxton's shot took a deflection but he seemed a little slow to move his feet, however he made two exceptional saves from Leitch-Smith, firstly standing tall to block an early chance before showing superb reactions late on... 7
Although he had a quiet first 45 minutes, it was initially assumed his half-time withdrawal owed to injury until Curle later revealed the move was tactical... 6

Recovered to make an important block from Leitch-Smith in the first-half and showed his versatility by slotting in at centre-back after half-time... 6.5
Far busier afternoon than he'd have liked, particularly second-half, but some desperate last-ditch defending was keeping Morecambe at bay until Ellison's leveller. Cautioned for a wild challenge in the first-half... 6.5
Not quite at his assured best for most of the afternoon, although wasn't helped by the way Town's midfield sat off and allowed Morecambe to regularly launch dangerous balls into his penalty box... 6
Don't think anyone expected him to be on a hat-trick after 37 minutes. Strong header gave Roche no chance before he profited from a deflection to put Cobblers two up. Generally decent in midfield too... 7.5 CHRON STAR MAN
He linked play nicely in the opening quarter as the visitors settled well but the more they sat off, the more his influence waned... 6
Might have been one player Curle was referring to when he suggested the midfield dropped too deep, however it was still a surprise to see him withdrawn after a typically industrious display. Covered an awful lot of ground... 7
His corner saw Turnbull head Town in front and he was so unlucky with a terrific curling effort that struck the crossbar at 2-0. Could have got closer to Buxton when the Morecambe man pulled one back... 6.5
Agonisingly close to winning it when his last-gasp flick hit the crossbar. His breaks from deep gave Town some joy in the first-half and should have set up the winner with a brilliant cross to Hall-Johnson in the 98th minute... 7
One of three to hit the woodwork as his glancing header clipped the crossbar late in the first-half. Frustrating afternoon otherwise and was replaced just after the hour-mark... 6
His introduction at the break saw Cobblers go to two up front and it was working fine until he became isolated after Williams departed for a defender... 6
Struggled to get up to speed and will wonder how he didn't win it with a wonderful late chance that he side-footed wide... 5.5
Desperately tried to force a winner in a breathless last few minutes but to no avail... 6
