Fraser Horsfall broke Town's goal duck inside two minutes before Ryan Watson and Peter Kioso handed the visitors a 3-2 lead, only for Charlie Brown to snatch it at the death. Here are our player ratings from Stadium MK...
1. Jonathan Mitchell
He won't look back on two of MK's four goals with any great fondness. Grigg's shot seemed to squirm under him a little too easily and he was hesitant to come out for Jerome's equaliser. Nothing he could do about Surman's stunner or the late winner... 5
2. Peter Kioso
He linked to great effect with Marshall once again, frequently bombing forward and getting into dangerous positions in the final third. Deserved his goal, which was well-taken, and it really should have been the winner... 7.5
3. Lloyd Jones
Lost possession in a dangerous area when Dons moved 2-1 in front but that might happen occasionally with Town now trying to build attacks from deep. Could have been stronger when Jerome got in behind and rifled home... 5.5
4. Fraser Horsfall
Smart improvisation to volley in Marshall's free-kick and open his account, finally ending Town's long wait for a goal in the process. Brown managed to sneak between him and Jones for the winner... 6.5
