Cobblers are waiting for the scan results to discover the severity of the hamstring injury sustained by Callum Morton during Saturday's game against Mansfield Town.

The 20-year-old West Brom loanee, who has five goals in nine appearances, required treatment on his hamstring but couldn't continue and limped from the field after 68 minutes, replaced by Scott Pollock.

Manager Keith Curle is hopeful the injury is nothing too serious but it seems likely that Morton will miss this week's trip to Forest Green Rovers.

"We're waiting for the results of the scan and then it'll be a case of those results being sent up to West Brom," said Curle.

"They'll analyse the results and so will our medical department and we'll then put together a format and a plan that gets Callum back on the field as quickly as possible."

Should Morton miss out on Saturday, he could be replaced in the team by Andy Williams who's recovered from his own hamstring problem.

Curle added: "He's back in field-based training, which is timely!

"He's in contention and as long as there's no reaction to training this week, he'll be available for selection on Saturday."
