Salisbury sent off Lincoln's Harry Anderson when the Cobblers drew 1-1 at Sincil Bank last season and he also oversaw Northampton's 3-1 defeat to Bury at Gigg Lane towards the end of the campaign.

The previous year, in League One, Salsibury controversially gave Ash Taylor his marching orders during Town's 2-0 derby defeat to Peterborough. The centre-back was deemed to be the last man when he fouled Jack Marriott.

That was one of three Northampton matches he reffed during 2017/18. He was in charge of the 3-1 home win over Southend and the 3-0 defeat to Scunthorpe, also at Sixfields.

Overall, of the five Northampton matches Salisbury has officiated, the Cobblers have three defeats, one draw and one win.
