LOOKING BACK: The night Cobblers fans lapped up play-off semi-final glory at Cheltenham Town

The Cobblers travel to Cheltenham Town for a crucial Sky Bet League Two clash on Tuesday night (ko 7.45pm).

Keith Curle's men will be looking to claim three precious points as they try to maintain their push for promotion, but it won't be an easy task at Whaddon Road.

The Cobblers' record at the Gloucestershire ground is patchy to say the least, with wins having proved hard to come by over the years.

Indeed, you have to go back to May 5, 2013 for the last time the Cobblers won at Cheltenham - and a memorable play-off semi-final second-leg win.

The Cobblers travelled west protecting a narrow 1-0 lead that had been earned by Roy O'Donovan's goal in the first leg at Sixfields.

Around 1,500 Town supporters packed into the away end on a gloriously sunny evening.

The Cobblers started in nervous fashion, and on-loan goalkeeper Lee Nicholls was responsible for maintaining that slim advantage from the first leg when he saved Marlon Pack's 15th-minute penalty, awarded for a foul by Ben Tozer on Russell Penn.

That was a let-off for Town, and they made the Robins pay on 27 minutes when Luke Guttridge scored a stunning volley from 25 yards, having been teed up by Adebayo Akinfenwa.

That goal put the Cobblers 2-0 up on aggregate, and the visitors were pretty comfortable from there on in, sealing a win that was met with great celebrations by the travelling faithful, who could start thinking about a big day out at Wembley.

Now, as we are all too aware, it would all end in Aidy Boothroyd's self-inflicted tears in the final against Bradford a couple of weeks later of course.

But that shouldn't take away from what was a Sunday night to remember at the home of the Robins.

Photographers Kirsty Edmonds, Sharon Lucey and Pete Norton were on hand at Whaddon Road to capture the action on and off the pitch, and a you can enjoy selection of their pictures here.
