League Two rivals announce their retained lists

While Cobblers get themselves primed for the play-offs, several of their League Two rivals have this week announced their retained lists after the regular season was effectively ended.

Bradford City, who are set to finish the season in ninth place, have released 10 players. They are: Kelvin Mellor, Jake Reeves, Shay McCartan, Jordan Gibson, Jermaine Anderson, Hope Akpan, Adam Henley, Daniel Devine, Joe Riley and George Sykes-Kenworthy.

The Bantams are in talks with former Cobblers goalkeeper Richard O'Donnell over a new contract while ex-Town academy player Glenn Middleton has ended his loan spell and returned to parent club Rangers.

Elsewhere, Port Vale, who will be pipped to the play-offs by Northampton once the final standings are ratified, have let seven players go: Will Atkinson, Callum Evans, Kieran Kennedy, Ryan Lloyd, Johnny Maddison and Jordan Macfarlane-Archer.

Shaun Brisley, David Amoo and Tom Conlan are among several to be offered a new deal.

Numerous other clubs have also confirmed their retained lists. The players set to be released from each club are listed below:

Salford: Josh Askew, Craig Conway, Darron Gibson, Kieran Glynn, Kyle Letheren, Chris Neal, Michael O’Connor, Nathan Pond, Devante Rodney, Mark Shelton and Scott Wiseman.

Grimsby: Bradley Garmston, Harry Davis, Brandon Buckley, Elliott Whitehouse, Elliot Grandin, Jake Hessenthaler, Harry Cardwell, Ahkeem Rose and Jordan Cook.

Scunthorpe: Yasin Ben El-Mhanni, Cameron Burgess, Andy Butler, Jordan Clarke, Adam Hammill, James Horsfield, Rory McArdle, Kgosi Ntlhe, James Perch, Yann Songo’o and Levi Sutton.
