Kevin Nolan reflects on 'hard-fought' but low-quality Huddersfield Town draw
Cobblers boss Kevin Nolan felt ‘a point was fair’ after his side drew 1-1 with Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.
Nesta Guinness-Walker’s thunderous volley gave Cobblers an early lead at Sixfields but Leo Castledine headed in to level late in the first half and then Cameron Ashia spurned the best chance to win it in an extremely scrappy and mistake-ridden second 45 minutes.

"It was a hard-fought draw in the end,” reflected Nolan. “You can see the quality of the squad they’ve assembled and they can make five changes between games and it doesn’t really impact them too much.
"We got off to a good start and I thought we we were well worth the 1-0 lead but then we never really cracked on from there and that was the disappointing thing for me. The conditions were difficult and both teams huffed and puffed. They had a decent chance in the second half and we had a decent one in the first so, all in all, a draw was probably fair.
"Today isn’t a game where I’m walking away thinking ‘we should have got more than what we got’ because a point was fair. There’s been a few games where I’ve felt disappointed not to get something but that wasn’t the case tonight.”
