Nicky Adams, Harry Smith and Scott Pollock all missed Saturday's pre-season friendly against Leyton Orient due to injury.

Smith missed out as a precaution while Adams and Pollock, who were both absent for Wednesday's practice match against the youth team, are currently sidelined with knocks.

"Nicky picked up a little knock in training last week and Harry woke up with a stiff back so it was a little bit precautionary," said Keith Curle after his side's 1-0 win at the PTS.

"We don't want players going out there and not being able to showcase exactly what they're about so if they do have a niggle, we have other games and training sessions for them to show what they can do, but I think it shows we have a competitive squad.

"Scotty's got a groin issue that is taking a little bit more time to settle down than we first thought, but the lad is working extremely hard and doing everything that needs to be done.

"He just needs to get on the grass and get back up to speed."

Meanwhile, midfielder Shaun McWilliams watched on from the stands on Saturday as he continues his rehabilitation from a serious knee injury.

"Shauny is still on his way back," added Curle. "He's in the latter stages of his recovery and he's doing all the running we need him to do.

"It's now just about getting his confidence back with changes of direction and that, so we're probably looking at him joining in with us in about three to four weeks."
