Keith Curle on the retained list, his contract situation and hoping to keep Callum Morton
Manager Keith Curle and the numerous out-of-contract players at the Cobblers will have their futures resolved later this week.
Curle's contract will technically expire tomorrow, just two days after he led Northampton to a 4-0 victory over Exeter City in the League Two play-off final, securing the first promotion of his managerial career.

But Curle was giving little away when asked about his contract situation following Town's magnificent victory at Wembley.
"We've had a lot of communication with the chairman and the CEO and right from the offset, when we got past Christmas, they made it clear they were happy with the progress we're making as a club," he said.
"But it was agreed that all contract negotiations would wait until the final game of the season, as it would for the players as well.

"I think that would be wrong and it wouldn't be right for the manager to tell players about their future if there's a chance he's not going to be at the club, for whatever reason.
"As a football club, we decided we would have those conversations when the timing is right."
Curle will sit down with his squad this week, while there's also discussions to be held over Callum Morton's future.

But Northampton are keen to re-sign Morton on loan next season and will hope that his rapid development over the past few months will convince the Baggies to send him back to Sixfields.
"Those conversations have preliminarily already taken place," Curle told BBC Sport. "We know in our opinion Callum is a player that needs to be progressing.
"He had a standstill with a bad injury, but this goes back to our recruitment. We knew about Callum 18 months ago and we tried signing him just over a year ago.

"Hopefully West Brom see a player of theirs developing, scoring goals and creating headlines."
