Chief executive James Whiting says the 'unprecedented demand' for Cobblers season tickets is 'like nothing we have seen before'.

Cobblers launched season tickets for their 2020/21 Sky Bet League One campaign on Monday, a week after their play-off final trouncing of Exeter City at Wembley.

And supporters have been snapping up those tickets in big numbers over the last few days as the Cobblers look forward to hosting the likes of Sunderland, Ipswich and Peterborough next season.

"The demand for season tickets is absolutely unprecedented and is like nothing we have seen before," said Whiting.

"We have only had season tickets on sale for a few days, but we have never been so busy in the first few days and we would like to say thank you to everyone for their support.

"Thank you too to the ticket office staff. Because of COVID-19 restrictions we are operating with staff working from home and they are doing a superb job to work through this demand.

"We should also thank supporters for their patience. The telephone lines are open 10am-2pm every day this week and then 10am-2pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday from next week onwards. Because of the huge demand we know that some supporters are having to be patient on the phones and we do appreciate their patience.

"The best and most efficient way to buy a season ticket is online via ntfcdirect.co.uk

"We believe there has not been a better time to be a season ticket holder and the early sales are showing that. There is a growing confidence that next season will be played in front of crowds but if any social distancing is required, then season ticket holders will of course have priority access to matches."
